Q: What kind of photography do you specialise in?
A: I specialise in cinematic, personality-driven shoots — think portraits that feel like stills from a film. Whether it’s creative branding, lifestyle portraits, or couples capturing real connection, I’m here for the moments that feel honest and a little epic.

Q: How do I book a photoshoot?
A: Just shoot me a message through the contact form or DM me on Instagram (@carries.photos)! We’ll chat about what you’re looking for and find a date that works.

Q: What should I wear for the shoot?
A: Wear something that feels like you — confident, comfortable, and true to your vibe. I can absolutely help with outfit suggestions! Before the shoot, you’ll receive a mood board from me based on the ideas you’d like to include, and that will give you an idea of outfits and poses as well!

Q: I’ve never done a shoot before… will you help me pose?
A: 1000%. I’ll guide you through the whole thing, so you’re never left wondering what to do with your hands. Most of the time, we’re just hanging out with a camera! I’ll get the good stuff while you focus on having fun.

Q: Do you travel for shoots?
A: Yep! I’m always down for a little adventure. Travel within Edinburgh is included, and beyond that we’ll just add a travel fee depending on distance.

Q: How long does it take to get my photos back?
A: Sneak peeks within a few days, full gallery within 2-3 weeks (sometimes sooner!). I edit with care to make sure every image reflects the story we captured.

Q: Can I bring a friend / partner / pet to the shoot?
A: Yes, yes, and YES. Whether you need a hype friend, moral support, or a dog in a bow tie - bring the energy that makes you feel most at ease. Also, on a side-note, I’d always recommend bringing someone to photoshoots when you’re meeting for the first time, especially if the photoshoot is in a studio/private place. I’ve modelled too in the past, and I think this is just good common sense. Don’t let anyone put you off the idea of bringing a friend/partner/parent if that makes you more comfortable!

Q: Do you offer prints or albums?
A: As of now (in the wee early days of my business), I don’t offer these as standard, but if this is something you’re looking for, let me know! I’m sure we can work it out!

Q: What happens if the weather’s bad?
A: If it’s an outdoor shoot and the weather’s not cooperating, we’ll reschedule or pivot to a cozy indoor option. I’m flexible and all about making it work.

Q: What’s your editing style?
A: Cinematic, atmospheric, and a little ethereal. I want you to look like you, just in really good light. I’m also open to the styles you’d like to create, so whilst I have my own distinctive style, don’t be afraid to ask for some specific styles.

Q: What exactly is a brand shoot?
A: A brand shoot is a custom photo session designed to tell your story; who you are, what you do, and why it matters. We’ll capture a mix of lifestyle, portrait, behind-the-scenes, and product shots that you can use across your website, social media, and marketing.

Q: I’m not sure what I need — can you help me plan it?
A: Absolutely. We’ll start with a planning call to figure out your goals, content needs, and overall vibe. I’ll help with location ideas, mood boards, outfit guidance, and shot lists so we’re totally aligned.

Q: Do I need to have a full team (makeup, stylist, etc.)?
A: Not at all — but if you want one, I have a solid list of local creatives I can recommend. You can keep it casual or go full production glam depending on your brand vision.

Q: Can we shoot at my workspace or home?
A: Totally. Using your real environment adds authenticity and context to your brand story. We can also scout other locations if you want a certain aesthetic (studio, coffee shop, outdoors, etc.).

Q: How many final images will I get?
A: Depends on your package, but I always aim to deliver a versatile set — think a mix of wide shots, close-ups, verticals for stories, horizontals for banners, and detail shots for filler content.

Q: Will I get content I can actually use on Instagram and my website?
A: 100%. Every shoot is created with strategy in mind. I shoot with platforms and layouts in mind so you’re not stuck cropping a horizontal image into a square and losing half your head.

Q: How often should I do a brand shoot?
A: It depends on your content needs and how much you post. Many of my clients book quarterly to keep things fresh, especially if they launch new offers or change up their look. Some other businesses just want one shoot to establish themselves and their messaging. It’s really up to you!

Q: Do you offer video as part of your shoots?
A: Yes! I offer short-form video add-ons perfect for Reels, TikTok, website banners, or behind-the-scenes content. Think: movement, mood, and micro-storytelling to bring your brand to life.

Q: What kind of videos do you create?
A: It depends on your goals! We can create scroll-stopping short-form clips (vertical, optimised for IG/TT), cinematic “about me” videos, process demos, or brand montages. All designed to feel true to you.

Q: How much video do I get with a shoot?
A: I offer a few tiers, from quick BTS-style clips throughout the shoot to fully edited, standalone videos. We’ll talk about what makes sense based on your needs and content strategy.

Q: Do you shoot and edit everything yourself?
A: Yes! I handle both photography and short-form video editing to keep your brand cohesive and streamlined.

Q: Can I use these videos on social media and my website?
